Hey everyone. Are you all ready for the season finale of Game of Thrones?! I know I am. Cannot wait. And of course, maybe tomorrow, I will be doing a full season review. There is so much to cover. Today though, I wanted to quickly review this great movie. I happened to find the Blu-Ray for 5.99 at FYE. I always wanted to own this but the price was never right, and at that low price it was a steal.
I am sure everyone is familiar with this 1997 classic. It stars Jason Lee, Ben Affleck and Joey Lauren Adams. Of course, the writer and director is Kevin Smith. A lot of people really like him, and a lot more hate him. I enjoy quite a few of his movies and this one happens to be my favorite, although it is very close with Clerks and Dogma. The acting is not bad but I do think Ben Affleck has a few awkward moments that could have easily been re-shot.
It is kind of funny. I do not remember the language being as bad as it was, though it was acceptable. Also, I think I appreciate the storyline more as an adult. Even today it is still something that stands out with brutal honesty and a strangely sincere tone.
The extras are not bad, more than you would expect from a minimum release. Check it out if you can, 5.99 for a great movie is nothing. And I promise you will watch it again. B+ for Chasing Amy.
Like I said, just a short review. Be sure to keep an eye out for my Game of Thrones write-up. I expect a season ending to remember tonight.
